How Does Furolin 100mg Tablet Work?

Activation inside bacterial cells:

After being absorbed and excreted into the urine, Nitrofurantoin enters bacterial cells in the urinary tract.

The recommended dosage of Furolin 100mg tablets (nitrofurantoin) for adults is as follows:

For Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs):

Either 100mg slow-release capsules twice daily (every 12 hours) for 7 days, or 50mg standard tablets four times daily (every 6 hours) for 7 days. 

For severe infections, 100mg standard tablets four times daily may be used. 

For Prevention Of Recurrent UTIs:

50mg to 100mg once daily at bedtime. 

Important Administration Notes: 

You can take Furolin 100mg tablet with food to overcome your stomach pain.

It’s important that you take time gap evenly throughout the day, like 4 times. You can start your tablet in the morning, midday, late afternoon and bedtime. 

Complete the full course even if you have fully recovered.  

Pediatric Dosing:

Based on body weight, typically 5-7 mg/kg/day divided into four doses for treatment and 1-2 mg/kg/day for prevention, but this must be determined by a doctor.
